Cards For Show & Tell

Pictured above are some of the cards that I  made at a recent card making session.

Once a month I take a card making class at our local activity center. We make five cards each session and because I love each of them so much I just can't bear to part with  any of them. My card collection is growing so large its getting a little out of hand.

I'm trying to come up with a good storage system. As of right now they are being stored in the large  boxes that bulk orders of  envelopes come in. Works well but the boxes aren't sturdy enough to hold up very well when being transported between Minnesota and Arizona. I'm sure that someone has made the  perfect  card storage tote and I hope to find it before we travel back to Minnesota.

OWH Sketch #30

This card is my interpretation of the OWH Sketch #30
The pre-colored image is a free digital print from the Hero Arts website.

These are cards that I made  using some of the leftover papers.

Operation Write Home Sketch Challenge # 163

I worked on this card late last night:

I'm going to use that as the excuse for things being a little crooked.
I used some new stamps and three different embossing folders.
The cream colored paper used on this card has been in my stash for over fifteen years! I have grandchildren that aren't that old!

This is OWH Sketch Challenge # 163

Using Some New Inks

The cards shown above are the results of an afternoon of playing around with some of my Distress Inks. I used post-a-notes to mask off the areas of the card that I didn't want inked. Used a sponge dauber to lightly ink the exposed parts of the card with distressed ink. I used the same ink to stamp the sentiment.

I embossed only a portion of the card front. These three embossing folders are my favorites. If the card requires an embellishment  I always seem to use a butterfly.

OWH Sketch Challenge #162

My friend Judy has a birthday this week so I made this card for her using the OWH sketch #162.
I  made a couple of changes so my card is not exactly the same as the sketch.

I used colored pencils again and all the papers were DCWV " Mariposa" in the 12"x12" and a 6" pad.

Judy loves poppies so I used this digi from Bird's Cards. Hope she likes it.
