OWH Challenge #148

Today I'm playing along with "The Operation Write Home Challenge #148".

Using sketch # 148 as inspiration I created this card  .

The papers are quite old and I don't  remember the brand. I used one of the stamps from TPC Studios "Playful Expressions" clear stamp set. I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in 3 colors: Broken China, Wild Honey and Barn Door. The strings on the tag are 3 colors of scrappers floss.

OWH Challenge #147

Today I am sharing a card that I made for Operation Write Home.  I'm using sketch #147

It seems strange to be working on a Valentines card when Thanksgiving was two days ago and I haven't even started my Christmas shopping but the deadline for those cards was weeks ago. Hope to get a full box off cards sent off to the shippers soon.

I really do love my Cuttlebug and I'm trying to use more embossing on my cards.

A New Paper Bag Album

I'm always amazed at how fast I can make these paper bag albums and then be stuck for (12) months trying to decide how to embellish the cover. The fan folded flowers were made using my Scor-Pal. I used a twelve inch strip of paper in widths of 2 inches, 1 1/2 inches and 1 inch. I scored them at 1/4 inch for each flower.

The leaves and flourishes were made using the Cricut. I am just learning how to use this fantastic cutting machine and everything I do is an experiment. I am learning to keep notes so I don't make the same mistakes over and over again.

The pages of this album are made using  small brown paper bags.  I used card stock to cover the pages. The photo mats were made  from gold and black  textured card stock. The fancy edge was made using a border punch.
The flower shaped photo mats and journal pages were made using the Cricut .
