Midweek Challenge X3

The Operation Write Home Midweek challenge this week is "Times Three".  The challenge is to use something on your card 3 times.

My card style is made using the tutorial " Triple Time Stamping"  with a slight adjustment to the placement of the third layer.

For my card I used the a  Hero Arts wheat stamp, which I stamped three times and embossed it with gold embossing powder. I used a Hero Arts sentiment stamp.

Sixteen New Cards Using OSW

This week Operation Write Home offered a One Sheet Wonder tutorial on their blog  from Seongsook Duncan's blog

The tutorial suggested using a 12"x12" piece of double sided designer paper. I didn't have this so I used two 12"x12" sheets of paper.  I cut both sheets of paper according to Seongsook"s template.

Next I followed the assembly instructions. Because I used two sheets of paper there will be a total of 16 cards made.

I used a white card base with a maroon layer and  two sheets of coordinating Christmas paper from the  DCWV "Christmas Combo Stack".

These are my  finished cards. This was a fun way to make many cards.  I'll be looking for more One Sheet Wonder templates.

A Little Ink On My Fingers

I just can't stay with one craft for very long.  At least this one involves ink and paper.

If I draw many more of these I'm going to need new glasses!

Hope to make these into cards for my personal use.

Making Birthday Cards

Handmade By Paula is where you can find this digital sentiment. Paula is a great designer and contributes many cards for Operation Write Home. Check out the freebies section of her blog.

I'm making at least six duplicates of each card so I can use up a lot of the old designer papers in my stash. For this card  I  went "outside of the box" by hand trimming the banner points and then  letting the banner points extend over the edges of the Spellbinders oval die, when I cut it out. I used a red oval layer and an orange scalloped layer under the sentiment.

Hoping to soon have a full box of cards to send to Operation Write Home.

Another Cloudy Sky Card

I'm still practicing making cloudy sky backgrounds for my cards.  This time I just used one color ink. I used"Broken China" distressed ink. I colored the digi with colored pencils and blended the colors with baby oil.

Digital images of balloons, seem to work really well with a cloudy sky background. I have plans to try images of hot air balloons, airplanes, kites and more butterflies.

Cloudy Skies

Cloudy skies!
I've been practicing making "cloudy skies" on my cards. All you need to make the cloudy background is a home-made stencil. I used a post-a-note cut in the shape of a cloud. I used a dauber and an ink pad.  Just ink around your stencil.

The sentiment stamp is made by Stampendous. The butterfly is made by Inkadinkado.
