I made one card that will fill the requirements for both the Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown
and
The Hambo Hoedown Challenge #104.
The OWH Midweek Throwdown requires that we follow this recipe:
Mix: 1 Embossing Folder
1 Die or Border Punch
2 Patterned Papers
1 ribbon or twine
View the Midweek Throwdown entries here
In order to qualify for the Hambo Hoedown Challenge #104
I'm using the Hambo Wee Henry Cuppie digital print.
The digital image was colored with colored pencils and gamsol was used to blend the colors.
I used "Stripes" which is my new embossing folder by The Paper Studio.
I also used my all time favorite embossing folder "D'vine Swirls" by Cuttlebug.
Twine and a Sizzix Labels die were also used.

Going Through The Paper Stash
I loved the "Disappearing Act" challenge from last week. I think this sketch is going to help me use lots and lots of paper from my stash.
This is what I made yesterday
One 12x12 inch piece of paper and I have 6 cards.
I used a new embossing folder from The Paper Studio "Curl Ribbon"
The sentiment stamp is from Stampabilities.
The digital stamp came from Michelle Perkett Studio and can be purchased here. This is the first time I've used it and I just love it.

Virtual Card Making Party Challenge #1 & #3
Today I'm showing a card I made for the VCMP challenge which fills the requirements for 2 different challenges:
Challenge #1, Zig Zag Your Card- use a zig zag element on your card
I used my new and I've never used this before " Chevron " embossing folder.
I used chalks to color the background. I tried to use colors I see in the Arizona sunsets. The stamp I used is a desert scene. A piece of twine for accent and a black base card was used.
This card is also my entry for:
Challenge # 3 Texture Omit/Selective Embossing Challenge
I followed the directions for making a diffuser out of cardboard (cereal boxes). I cut the oval shape out using my Sizzix die. The card was placed in the embossing folder and the cardboard diffuser was placed over the folder. When I ran it through the Cuttlebug the chevron pattern appeared in the area covered by the cardboard and the oval space didn't have any texture. I'm making more diffusers today using my other Sizzix dies. I love this technique!

Challenge #5 VCMP Disappearing Act
The requirements for this challenge:
Use an entire 12x12" sheet of designer paper.
Use this OWH Sketch #63
Make six cards
I used some designer paper from my stash. I would tell you more about this paper but I cut my sheets of paper down to card size so I can transport a large variety of paper from Minnesota to Arizona and back again.
I was pleased with the six cards. I will definitely use this sketch again. Next time I'll try to use some of my really ugly paper.

OWH Sketch #152
I just love all the "Penny Black" stamps.
This little Hedgie is one of my favorites.
I colored the image with colored pencils. The image needed to stand out a little so I used foam strips behind it. I used a Spellbinder Lacey Circle as a frame for the image. Some scraps of designer papers from my stash and an embossed base card and I now have another card for Operation Write Home.

Someone Is Having A Birthday
My youngest grandson has a birthday next week.I made this card just for him. The image I used is a digi print. I used colored pencils and blended the colors with gamsol. The papers are scraps from my stash.
I've gone through my digi files and can't find what company I purchased this print from. If you recognize it, leave me a comment and let me know the company and I will give credit to the designer.
I used the Operation Write Home sketch #157. I was a little concerned about all the layers used in this sketch but it wasn't a problem at all.
