I was shopping at my local hobby and craft store the other day and I found a "Fancy Frames" Cricut cartridge in the clearance rack . Of course I had to buy it!!!
Since then I've spent entire afternoons cutting out frames that are just the right size for my greeting cards.
The image on the card front is a Poppy Stamp from Penny Black. I colored the image using Derwent Colored pencils and blended the colors with baby oil. The sentiment was stamped on a scrap of velum and then backed with a snippet of white card stock. A few little snippets of ribbon were added to the sentiment.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges
Pixie's Snippets Playground Challenges 178 & 179
Mynn's Birthday Bash Giveaway Celebration at her blog "On A Stampage"

City Crafters Challenge Blog
The card I'm sharing today is my entry for the current challenge at City Crafters Challenge Blog
We are to use the picture shown below as the inspiration for our card
The theme of this challenge is Inky-nes"S"
We are to create a project that features one or more of the following techniques
"S"mooching
"S"tencilling
"S"plattering
"S"ponging
My card was made using watercolor paper for the background.
I "S"mooched the color in the masked off center square.
I "S"plattered on the background with some gold colored acrylic paint.
I "S"ponged the background with a cloud template and distressed inks
I used some bits and pieces of leftover watercolor papers to die cut the flowers and stems. Painted them with distress inks and layered the flowers, stems and leaves.
This card is also being entered in
Mynns Birthday Bash Giveaway at "On A Stampage Blog"

Butterfly Birthday Card In Blue
I made another birthday card for Mynn's Birthday Bash Giveaway over at "On A Stampage". To visit Mynn's blog and see all the other birthday cards in the challenge just click on this link or on the link in my sidebar.
I used the same Burned Batik Background Technique as I did in my last post, but this time I used blue and purple distress inks to color the background.
The base of the card is a Gelli Plate print that I made a while back.
I'm not a very good stamper so the Elizabeth Craft "Happy Birthday" die gets used a lot on my cards.
I added a ribbon on the side with my favorite little Memory Box Butterfly die and some little brads and this card is ready to go.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. I hope you'll come back and visit again soon.

Birthday Card With Butterflies
The card I'm sharing today uses two different butterfly dies and two different techniques for making backgrounds.
I love the Bokeh Effect stamping technique, so I had to try it using inks in shades of yellow and orange with the dots made using white pigment ink. Splitcoast Stampers has a great tutorial on Bokeh, check out the link provided.
I made a cloudy sky by cutting out a cloud shape from scrap paper and inked around it by using sponge daubers and "Broken China" Distress Ink. If you are interested in trying this technique check out the link to Splitcoast Stampers.
The gold colored base layer on this card was a bit of left over card stock from last years graduation cards.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Pixies Snippets Playground/Weeks 175 &176
Papertake Weekly Challenge "In The Garden"
Sister Act Card Challenge, Challenge #105
Creative Fingers Challenge Blog/Challenge #79

Seize The Birthday Challenge - Use The Negative!
I made this card for the Seize The Birthday Challenge.
The challenge rules are that you must use the negative portion of your die cut. The part that you would normally throw away.
The base of this card was inked with "Broken China" Distress Ink. Blue glitter paper was used for the card layer and also the butterfly die cut. For the negative space I used a Penny Black die "Fresh Breeze" and saved the die cut for a future project. I love how the blue glitter paper shows through. I used a Elizabeth Craft "Happy Birthday" die.
I almost forgot to mention that the background of the butterfly was cut from a left over piece of paper that was stamped using the Bokeh Technique.
Thanks for visiting my blog today. Hope you like this birthday card.
Have a great day,

A Spring Birthday Card
This picture, from "The Shabby Tea Room", Week #251 "Pretty In Pink Challenge" was the inspiration for my card today.
I finished this card just in time to send to a friend for her "Spring Birthday."
The background for this card was made using the "Bokeh Effect Technique". I used an assortment of Distress Inks in pastel colors and sponged them onto card stock. I then used several different sizes of circle stencils and sponged white ink over the surface.

My New Favorite Mini Album
This mini album was designed by Laura Dennison from "Following The Paper Trail".
This is The Shabby Pockets Mini Album and if you click on the link it will take you to her instruction video.
I've followed her blog for years and I think she designs the most wonderful mini albums. She gives excellent instructions and also her you tube videos are great.
The cover of this album was made with burlap covered chip board and gesso. The flowers used to decorate the cover were from "Paper Studio". The leaves behind the flowers were made with cheesecloth that I dyed with distress ink.
This book has many pages for displaying pictures and there are also many, many pockets.
There are photo mats to fit in all the pockets.
I found this designer paper at my local Hobby Lobby. It is by "Prima" and is the "Romance Novel Collection". I combined these papers with pages made from Kraft paper.
I love the vintage look of this paper collection.
Thanks so much for stopping by to look at my new mini album. I love getting comments so let me know if you like this book.
