A Birthday Card With A Burned Batik Background

Surprise! Another Butterfly Card!

I tried another new technique for making a background for this card. The Technique is called the "Burned Batik Background" and if you are interested in trying something like this the link for the tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers is HERE.

Mynn, over at the blog "On A Stampage" is doing a Birthday Bash Giveaway! She will be boxing up tons of stamps, paper, bling, etc. and sending it off to one randomly chosen winner at the end of May! Go to her blog and follow the giveaway rules and Good Luck! Today's card is the birthday card that I made for her.

I am also entering this card in the Pixie"s Snippets Playground Challenge #177
I love this challenge and I make more friends every time I play there. Di is a great challenge hostess.

For this card I used:

 Clear Embossing Powder
Stampendous Butterfly Stamp
Background Stamp by Inkadinkado  with  Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Distress Ink in Wild Honey, Abandoned Coral and Cracked Pistachio
Elizabeth Craft "Happy Birthday" sentiment die
Heart Brads (NBUS)
Paper Doily Scrap found in Leftovers Box
Background also leftover designer paper

Thanks for visiting my blog today. Have a great day!
Ta Ta For Now,
Kathy

  3. Kathy, this is just beautiful. I LOVE it. TFS the link. I will be sure to check it out, as I really admire this look. Techniques are fun! Thanks for becoming a new follower. Just gave you a shout-out welcome on today's post, so hope lots of my readers will pop over for a visit. Looking forward to getting to know you and will be fun to see you in the Playground. Have been neglecting Parsnip of late, due to Life things, but the Snippets Playground is very dear to my heart. As are a lot of the folks who play there, along with Miss Pixie herself! TFS & Hugs.

  4. Kathy, you would love to experiment with the brusho watercolor crystals. I can't manage spray & stencils very well, but the sprays make fab marbled backgrounds, and I like doing that. It's rather messy though, so when I start playing, I try to make up several backgrounds. Then I can't always tell which was what product if I use enough water on the Brusho-s to make them marble instead of just doing the splashes & bits of color. Hope you get some new traffic from the welcome shoutout. I've found that this helps. I'm USA, in Upstate SC. We visited Land of Lakes in 2007, just didn't have enough time to sightsee. Also been in some of the western states too. Hugs
